As thought leaders, our risk managers identify emerging issues and trends affecting the practice of psychiatry and, in turn, make sure psychiatrists are equally informed. Clients receive timely risk management alerts and updates through On Our Minds. Clients also have access to model templates and over 360 resources in our digital library.

Our experienced risk management team is available to help our clients identify and assess potential risk exposure, and to provide strategies and resources for managing risk. We have addressed more than 92,000 psychiatry-specific risk management
issues on our toll-free helpline since 1997.

PRMS risk managers host a monthly discussion for PRMS clients that recaps recent events. Justin Pope joined PRMS in 2014. Mr. Pope is responsible for researching emerging risk management issues, creating online content, speaking on risk management topics, and providing advice to individual providers through the Risk Management Consultation Service.
As a law student, he focused primarily on international, administrative, and food law. During his final year at Howard, Mr. Pope gained additional insight into the FDA’s regulatory process while serving as a research assistant to his professor. He has also interned as a legal assistant for both the Ft. Monroe Garrison Office of the Staff Judge Advocate and the Office of the Naval Inspector General, researching and writing on a variety of legal issues. Mr. Pope received his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs from the University of Virginia and his Juris Doctor degree from the Howard University School of Law.
Denita Neal, JD, joined the PRMS risk management team as Senior Risk Manager in January 2025, returning to the company (2007-2011) after serving in hospital leadership at hospitals in Mississippi, Georgia, California, and Washington, DC. Denita earned her LPN licensure during her service in the U.S. Army Reserves and worked in direct patient care for several years before earning her B.A. in English from the University of Memphis, and later, her Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law.
Kem Isang joined PRMS in 2022 after working as a registered nurse for several years. Ms. Isang is responsible for providing advice to clients through the Risk Management Consultation Service and coordinating educational presentations.
Ms. Isang received her Associates of Science degree in Nursing from Community College of Baltimore County, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jurisprudence from The University of Baltimore County, and a Juris Doctor Degree from University of South Carolina School of Law.
Kahlia Kéita joined PRMS in 2026. She has more than 10 years of experience in healthcare and insurance as a Clinical Ethics Educator and Risk Manager. Ms. Kéita earned a Master of Arts degree in Bioethics and Health Policy from Loyola University Chicago and a Juris Doctor from the University of the District of Columbia. She has advised clinicians and allied health professionals on complex liability issues, fostering sound decision-making and patient-centered care.
In risk management, she mitigates malpractice liability through education and operational improvement. Ms. Kéita’s work focuses on delivering practical and informed guidance that reduces organizational exposure, promotes regulatory compliance, and supports ethical decision-making.
