Leadership in Action: Meet the Washington Psychiatric Society 2025-2026 Executive Committee

As part of PRMS’ ongoing commitment to behavioral health, we invited the Washington Psychiatric Society (WPS) to be featured as a guest blogger. In their own words, the newly elected Executive Board for the 2025-2026 term shares their vision, priorities, goals for WPS and its members. The perspectives and priorities of its leaders reflect themes and challenges shared across the psychiatric community nationwide, offering insights that resonate well beyond Washington, DC metro area. PRMS is proud to be a Platinum Level Sponsor of WPS and extends our best wishes to the new Executive Board for a successful term.

The following is republished from FOCUS, the quarterly member newsletter of the Washington Psychiatric Society, September 2025 issue

Todd S. Cox, MD, DLFAPA, FACPSYCH; The Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University Faculty and Private Practice; WPS President

As President of the WPS Board, I hope to inspire and lead the board and the organization in our service to our members, our patients, and the field of psychiatry. This includes strengthening and growing our professional community in number and diversity, expanding resources and programs for our members as well as the broader community, fostering connections and collaborations with other organizations and institutions, and providing mentorship, support, and connection for our members and aspiring professionals.

Humaira Siddiqi, MD, DFAPA; WPS President- Elect

My career has taken me to novel methods of treatment that also incorporated the core values and foundations of this profession. It has allowed me to understand ongoing obstacles our profession continues to face when I have been on the frontlines of turning mission into action. Bringing this to bear, as President-Elect I will drive a practical and pragmatic approach, bearing in mind that adaptation is part of that growth plan, bringing clinicians to the most timely topics, and building partnerships across stakeholder communities.

Christopher F. Flynn, MD; MedStar Washington Hospital Center and Private Practice; WPS Treasurer

My goals are to ensure that our WPS assets are wisely placed and can safely increase their value. I also want to assist with financial strategies that support Drs. Cox’s and Siddiqi’s vision in growing and strengthening our Society.

Seth Rosenblatt, MD, MPH, FAPA; Vive Treatment Centers; WPS Secretary

I will use my role as Secretary to advocate for the needs of WPS members, ensuring their voices are represented in decisions that shape our profession. Through collaboration, I will work to create opportunities that strengthen member engagement and professional development.

Enrico Suardi, MD; Saint Elizabeths Hospital; WPS Immediate Past President

I will oversee the Career, Leadership, and Mentorship Program (CLM) podcast interviews and fulfill my other role requirements as immediate past president. The WPS Podcast connects psychiatrists in training with established psychiatrists who can possibly serve as mentors.
