PTSD Awareness Month and "Refer a Colleague" Double Donations

In an effort to continue our support of organizations helping communities affected by the unprecedented results of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in recognition of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month, PRMS is pleased to announce our donations to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and the Purple Heart Foundation this June.

NAMI provides advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives. During the present COVID-19 pandemic, the organization continues to support mental health initiatives throughout the country, recognizing the unique mental health struggles that this virus can bring on, including loneliness for those isolated at home alone, emotional struggles faced by those at frontlines, and other hardships. The “NAMI COVID-19 Resource and Information Guide” is available online and includes information on how to help navigate the pandemic.

Purple Heart Foundation aims to enhance the quality of life for veterans and their families, providing support across the country through a number of programs to help combat the emotional, medical and financial challenges faced when returning from combat and beyond. Now specifically, the foundation is monitoring the effects of COVID-19 on veterans and providing support, particularly to aging veteran populations, as well as offering resources, counseling, and emergency relief. The Purple Heart Foundation’s resources related to COVID-19, including home-school sample schedules, teleworking tips, and a real-time map of COVID-19, can be found here.

Supporting community mental health is an important mission for PRMS. We continue to show our appreciation for behavioral health providers who refer and recommend PRMS to their colleagues through the “Refer a Colleague” program year-round with a donation made on behalf of the referrer to an organization supporting the mental health community. From Monday, June 1 to Tuesday, June 30, we will be doubling our donations – to $100 per referral! For every referral PRMS receives, we provide a $50 donation (doubled to $100 in June) to NAMI, a state psychiatric association, or a national or regional specialty psychiatric association of the referrer’s choice – whether or not an insurance policy is purchased.

Please visit PRMS.com/Refer, to learn more about the program and start earning donations today. To see how “Refer a Colleague” has evolved, please read our past posts about the program from 2016, 2018 and 2020.

Thank you for your help in our ongoing efforts to be of support to the behavioral health community. Please note that your privacy is our priority, and information provided by the referrer and your referral will not be shared or sold to third-parties.
