Tonya Davies, CPCU, ARe

Chief Operating Officer

 

Tonya Davies joined PRMS as Chief Operating Officer in 2019.  She is responsible for instituting strategic initiatives, establishing financial and nonfinancial targets, and managing business operations for PRMS.  Ms. Davies has a breadth of experience in medical professional liability underwriting from the insurance and reinsurance perspectives.  Prior to PRMS, she worked at TransRe as a Senior Vice President, where she was responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of companies specializing in medical professional liability.  Ms. Davies began her career in insurance, underwriting various healthcare classes on a primary basis at AIG and Zurich.   

Ms. Davies attended the University of Georgia where she earned a B.B.A. with a concentration in risk management and insurance.  She holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designations. 

Angela Borea, JD

Director of Claims

 

Angela Borea is an experienced leader, having spent more than 30 years in claims and operations. She joined PRMS in 2021 and is currently directing and overseeing the claims department. Prior to joining PRMS as Director of Claims, she led teams at State Farm Automobile Insurance Company, United Educators, and American Insurance Trust. Ms. Borea is a graduate of University of Maryland, College Park and Columbus School of Law at Catholic University.

Tara Bowman, MBA

Director of Finance

 

Tara Bowman is a seasoned finance executive with a strong background in strategic financial leadership and operational efficiency. Currently serving as the Director of Finance at PRMS®, she leverages her expertise to drive financial strategies and enhance manufacturing processes.

Mrs. Bowman holds an MBA in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University, underscoring her commitment to financial excellence. Her leadership continues to contribute to the financial health and strategic direction of the organizations she serves.

Megan Jones, MBA, ARM, AIS

Director of Operations

 

Megan Jones joined PRMS in 1997 and is currently responsible for implementing operational, technological and product recommendations for the PRMS. She applies qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret data and produce substantiated solutions, and implement new sales, customer service and retention initiatives.

Prior to joining PRMS, Ms. Jones worked with State Farm Insurance Company. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management/Marketing from Elon University and her Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Jones holds an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and an Associate in Insurance Services (AIS) designation and is a licensed property and casualty agent. She serves on the board of Phoenix Bikes, a non-profit focused on educating youth through bicycle mechanics, and is a County Manager appointed member of the Arlington County Bicycle Advisory Committee.

Sumanth Kollipara, MS

Director of Information Technology

 

Sumanth Kollipara joined PRMS in 2020 as Software Development Manager. He has more than 20 years of experience working in web and software development, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Andhra University, as well as a Master of Science degree in Software Engineering from West Virginia University.

 

Kathy Miller

Director of Underwriting

 

With more than 25 years of experience as an underwriter, Kathy Miller joined the PRMS team after working more than 4.5 years as AVP, Director of Programs at Fair American Insurance Company (FAIRCO), a subsidiary of Transatlantic Reinsurance Company. She previously held positions at Zurich, AIG, MCM Insurance, and Frontier Healthcare. 

Justin Pope, JD

Associate Director of Risk Management

 

Justin Pope is responsible for the development and implementation of risk management services for PRMS.

Mr. Pope joined PRMS in 2014. Mr. Pope is responsible for researching emerging risk management issues, creating online content, speaking on risk management topics, and providing advice to individual providers through the Risk Management Consultation Service.

As a law student, he focused primarily on international, administrative, and food law. During his final year at Howard, Mr. Pope gained additional insight into the FDA’s regulatory process while serving as a research assistant to his professor. He has also interned as a legal assistant for both the Ft. Monroe Garrison Office of the Staff Judge Advocate and the Office of the Naval Inspector General, researching and writing on a variety of legal issues. Mr. Pope received his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs from the University of Virginia and his Juris Doctor degree from the Howard University School of Law.

Courtney Brooke Smith, MBA

Director of Marketing

 

Courtney Brooke Smith joined PRMS in 2025 as the Director of Marketing. She is responsible for leading a team in the companies Marketing, Events, and Partner and Client Relations projects and initiatives. She creates opportunities for company growth and collaboration working with national, regional and state psychiatric associations. She brings extensive experience in diverse industries, including healthcare and working on Wall Street in financial services. During her career, Courtney has led transformations delivering measurable results through innovative brand strategies, creative storytelling, and data-driven marketing.

She holds an MBA from Syracuse University, a BA from Wells College, and an Executive Management Certificate from Cornell University. Her diverse background and strategic expertise will enable her to make a strong impact across all facets of our Marketing Team.
