On behalf of the entire team at PRMS, our hearts go out to all of those affected by hurricanes and severe weather. Our risk management resource, The Hurricane is Coming, may be useful as you prepare for hurricane season and storms.

To our clients directly affected by the severe weather:

We realize that you may be dealing with a myriad of issues due to the hurricane. Please know that we are thinking of you as you face these personal and professional concerns. In the coming days, weeks and months you may have questions about the effects on your practice. If you need copies of any pertinent policy information or have any coverage questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at clientservices@prms.com or (800) 245-3333.

We also anticipate that there will be questions on lost or damaged records, interruptions in treatment and a variety of other situations. Feel free to call the Risk Management Consultation Service helpline at (800) 527-9181 with any of your risk management questions or concerns. A resource on the recovery of records following a disaster is available online for your reference, as well.

To our clients interested in volunteering in affected areas:

We recognize that there will be an increased need for mental health counseling and services. Psychiatrists insured through The Psychiatrists' Program are covered for the rendering of psychiatric services as a volunteer in any state in which they are licensed. However, psychiatrists who wish to volunteer in a state where they are not licensed must check with the licensing authority before proceeding to provide any treatment.

For further information about your coverage, please contact us at (800) 245-3333 or clientservices@prms.com.
