Carl Malmquist, M.D. Awarded Prestigious Manfred Guttmacher Award

PRMS Vice President of Claims Jean Clark Bates, RN, BSN, MPPM, meets the recipent of the prestigious Manfred Guttmacher Award, Carl Malmquist, M.D. on May 20, 2007, in San Diego, California. Dr. Malmquist, a professor of social psychiatry at the University of Minnesota, won the award for his recent book, Homicide: A Psychiatric Perspective, which explores American homicide from a psychological perspective.

The Manfred S. Guttmacher Award honors outstanding achievement in the field of literature on forensic psychiatry. The award, is co-sponsored by the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law (AAPL) since 1982 and supported by a grant from Professional Risk Management Services, Inc. (PRMS). The award is officially presented at the AAPL meeting held during the APA Annual Meeting, as is the recipient's award lecture.
