PRMS Presents a Mock Trial for Mental Health Professionals
Arlington , VA , August 1, 2006 : Professional Risk Management Services, Inc. (PRMS) presents, “Berber v. Mellott , MD : Lessons from a Medical Malpractice Mock Trial,” on September 9, 2006 in Providence , RI , at The Westin Providence.
This unique risk management experience will illustrate the relationship between the legal system, professional malpractice, and risk management. Seminar attendees will participate in a psychiatric-specific mock courtroom – complete with attorneys, experts and a judge. This seminar was designed to help attendees understand the litigation process and the courtroom experience, as well as provide them with risk management techniques to help them stay out of the courtroom.
“Clinicians who attend our seminars have been clamoring for this type of event! They want a very practical way to understand how the litigation process works, what to expect if named as a defendant and, most importantly, how to avoid a lawsuit in the first place,” said Marynell Hinton, Senior Risk Manager at PRMS and featured faculty at the Mock Trial. “We are excited that we can offer a Mock Trial with a team of experts in psychiatry and in medical malpractice defense.”
This seminar is intended for psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors, clinical nurse specialists, risk managers, and other advanced practice mental health professionals. Upon successful completion of this seminar, attendees will be available for up to 5.25 CME or 5.0 CE credit in Category 1.
Registration is $299. Full agenda, objectives, registration, and accreditation language is available at www.prms.com/mocktrial. Attendees may register online and receive $100 off the full registration price. Group discounts are also available. Call 800-245-3333, ext. 347 for further details. For those unable to attend the seminar, PRMS has also made the materials available for purchase online.
