PRMS Recognizes National Suicide Prevention Week, September 9 - 15, 2007
National Suicide Prevention Week
September 9 – 15, 2007
In recognition of National Suicide Prevention Week, The Psychiatrists' Program has gathered risk management materials of interest to behavioral healthcare providers on the topic of suicide prevention.
Suicide Assessment Five-step Evaluation and Triage (SAFE-T)
Screening for Mental Health, Inc., in collaboration with The Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC), has developed a concise but thorough suicide assessment protocol that fits conveniently on a portable pocket card – Suicide Assessment Five-step Evaluation and Triage (SAFE-T)
The SAFE-T protocol guides clinicians through five practical, easy-to-follow steps which address a patient’s level of suicide risk and suggest appropriate interventions. Although it is not intended to function as a standard of care, it is a valuable resource guide for physician working “in the field” with patients who exhibit sign of suicidal behaviors.
PRMS offers the SAFE-T card at exhibits (visit our Event Calendar to see where we will exhibit this year), and provided the card as a complimentary benefit to its members in the Spring 2007 edition of the risk management newsletter, Rx for Risk)
