We, at PRMS, believe that by educating psychiatrists
about the causes of malpractice claims, we can help them improve patient
care and avoid many malpractice claims. Thus, we are pleased to offer
a unique educational program-PREP, at no charge, to groups of psychiatry
residents, especially those nearing the completion of their professional
training. The program is open to residents, fellows and attending physicians.
- PREP addresses the basics of malpractice insurance,
in general, and provides an overview of practice-related risk management
issues - topics which often are not formally addressed during the
course of residency training. Psychiatrists who will soon be making
critical decisions about their own professional liability protection
need to be familiar with these concepts.
- PREP is designed to run approximately 90 minutes; however,
its format is flexible to allow for modifications to suit your time
frame and audience size. It can be a stand-alone seminar or incorporated
into grand rounds.
As a leader in proactive psychiatric risk management
education, PRMS' goal is to prevent malpractice suits before they happen.
Learning from our vast experience handling claims against psychiatrists,
and calls to our risk management helpline, we have amassed a unique
body of knowledge which forms the basis of our efforts to teach specific
ways to lower psychiatric malpractice risk.
Contact us at (800) 245-3333, ext. 363 or at prep@prms.com to schedule a complimentary program at your facility.
