| PROGRAM OVERVIEW |
Professional Risk Management Services, Inc. (PRMS, Inc.) has identified the issues of treating patients with suicidal behaviors, professional liability risks associated with prescribing medication, maintaining the confidentiality of information, proper termination of the psychiatrist-patient relationship, professional liability risks associated related to technology, and professional liability risks related to forensic activities to be an educational need based on a review of claims/event data, calls about these topics received on the Risk Management Consultation Service (RMCS) helpline, the results of a self-administered physician audit, a literature review, and consensus of risk management experts. |
