PRMS Risk Management SeminarPRMS presents Navigating the Maze of Malpractice Risks: Let Risk Management Lead the Way - a full-day seminar targeting the highest-risk activities of psychiatric practice as well as answering the most frequently asked risk management questions.

 INTENDED AUDIENCE

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of psychiatrists and other behavioral healthcare clinicians in clinical practice.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Professional Risk Management Services, Inc. (PRMS, Inc.) has identified the following areas of need for psychiatrists and other behavioral healthcare professionals: working with patient with suicidal behaviors; addressing complex breach of confidentiality issues; prescribing psychotropic medication; awareness of new guidelines regarding restraint and seclusion; managing and using electronic patient information; and appropriately disclosing adverse events.

 OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

Identify and incorporate a formal suicide assessment tool into clinical practice
Document initial and on-going patient suicide assessment and clinical basis for treatment plan
Understand the relevance of HIPAA to the participant’s practice
Identify five key elements which should be included in a specific, formal monitoring system for prescribed medications
Identify two resources for staying up-to-date with medication safety issues
Demonstrate increased knowledge of new strategies and procedures for decreasing the use of seclusion and restraint
Demonstrate increased awareness of relevant guidelines for restraint and seclusion
Know the common terminology of ePHI
Demonstrate increased understanding of evidentiary implications regarding ePHI
Understand the therapeutic and clinical bases for disclosing adverse events
Demonstrate increased understanding of the relationship between disclosing adverse events and litigation

No refunds will be issued for cancellations received less than 10 days prior to the seminar date. PRMS reserves the right to cancel any seminar; in such event, registrants will receive a full refund of the paid registration fees.
