Martin Tracy has been leading PRMS since July 1998, when he took
on the role of President and CEO. The company is nationally recognized
today for its expertise in the specialized field of professional
liability insurance for behavioral healthcare professionals. He
was with the American Psychiatric Association Office of Member
and Staff Benefits when the association created PRMS in 1986 and
has been a member of the management team directing and guiding
the company ever since.
Mr. Tracy speaks nationally on insurance and
risk management issues in behavioral healthcare. He is a published
author and contributor to several leading national publications,
writing on topics including strategies for risk retention groups/purchasing
groups, examining and analyzing malpractice coverage for psychiatrists
and psychologists, identifying exposures raised by the changing
practice nature and environment of today's behavioral healthcare
professional. Through active membership in organizations such
as the American Health Lawyers Association, Professional Liability
Underwriting Society, Risk and Insurance Management Society, and
the Academy of Organizational and Occupational Psychiatry, he
stays on top of emerging trends and issues that impact the company

Joseph Detorie has 25 years of experience in
the insurance finance industry. He joined PRMS in 1991 and currently
serves as its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
He is responsible for the overall direction of the finance, HR/administration
and information systems segments of PRMS. His current functions
include analysis and presentation of underwriting and financial
results, contract negotiation, and corporate strategic planning.
Prior to joining PRMS, Mr. Detorie was employed
for eleven years by AVEMCO subsidiaries and his responsibilities
included serving as Treasurer of Eastern Aviation and Marine Underwriters
and Director of Eastern Aviation and Marine Insurance Company.
He was responsible for the financial and operational departments
as well as the tactical implementation of strategic corporate
plans. He is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting

Melanie
Smith manages the marketing, sales and public relations functions
for PRMS. This responsibility includes developing and implementing
strategic marketing campaigns and communication activities to promote
PRMS and client insurance programs in the healthcare marketplace.
Ms. Smith has worked in the marketing, communications
and public relations fields since 1979. She was employed by the
American Psychiatric Association Office of Member and Staff Benefits
prior to joining PRMS in 1986. Previously, she was Marketing Manager
for an educational association. She represents PRMS on the Corporate Advisory Council of the American Psychiatric Foundation. Ms. Smith earned
her bachelor's degree in Public Relations Management from George

Jacqueline Palumbo is an experienced underwriting
manager, having worked in the medical malpractice insurance industry
since 1977. She joined PRMS in 1996 and directs the overall underwriting
including rate and product development, renewal, policy issuance
and account management. Ms. Palumbo oversees customer service,
premium billing/collection and record keeping on client programs.
Ms. Palumbo has substantial professional liability
underwriting expertise with physician, hospital and managed care
risks. Prior to joining PRMS, she worked for Healthcare Underwriters
Mutual Insurance Company as the Director of Underwriting. Previous
experience includes underwriting management positions with PIC
Wisconsin, The Doctors Company and Illinois State Medical Inter

Jacqueline Melonas is a healthcare attorney
and a clinical specialist in psychiatric nursing with a focus on
child and adolescent psychiatry. She joined PRMS in 1998 and is
responsible for directing and overseeing the risk management department
including the consultation helpline for insureds, national seminars
and Rx for Risk, the quarterly risk management newsletter.
She speaks nationally on emerging liability issues and has been
published in numerous publications including Psychiatric News
and Psychiatric Practice & Managed Care.
For the past fifteen years, Ms. Melonas has
been developing and implementing risk management programs for
behavioral healthcare professionals and liability insurance companies,
as well as providing claims and litigation management. In addition
to her behavioral healthcare experience, she has provided risk
management programs for long-term care providers, acute care clinics,
and rehabilitation facilities. Ms. Melonas is a member of the
American Bar Association, American Society for Healthcare Risk
Management, Maryland Society for Healthcare Risk Management, American
Health Lawyers Association and Professional Liability Underwriting
Society. She received her law degree from the University of Maryland,
School of Law.

Jean Bates is an experienced medical
malpractice claims manager and negotiator, particularly involving
behavioral healthcare litigation. She joined PRMS in 1989 and
is currently directing and overseeing the claims department while
still maintaining an active role in adjusting complex malpractice
cases.
Ms. Bates has over seventeen years of experience
in healthcare liability insurance, investigating and managing
malpractice claims for a broad range of specialties including
emergency medicine, internal medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics/gynecology
and general surgery. She brought into this profession her clinical
experience in the neurosurgery intensive care unit of a university
hospital and the emergency department of a large county facility.
She is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society.
Ms. Bates received her nursing degree from the University of Alabama
and master's degree in business from Birmingham Southern College.

Cora
Watley is a licensed Property and Casualty agent with over 30
years of underwriting experience, including ten years in a supervisory/managerial
capacity for both technical and administrative functions.
Prior
to joining PRMS in 1994, Ms. Watley worked for Maryland Casualty
Company as the Area Underwriting Manager and CNA Insurance Company
as an Underwriting Specialist. She also has worked for Aetna Life
and Casualty Company as a commercial property underwriter.

Max Ahmadi is a Certified Novell Engineer and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. He has almost 20 years experience in information technology and has been with PRMS since 1995. Prior to joining PRMS, Mr. Ahmadi worked as a Network Engineer with a top-20 national networking firm where he installed over 200 networks a year. Donna Vanderpool received her undergraduate
degree from James Madison University, and her MBA and JD from
George Mason University. Since joining PRMS, she has staffed the
Risk Management Consultation Service Helpline, giving telephone
advice and recommendations on all types of psychiatric risk management
issues. She currently assists the Vice President with the development
and implementation of risk management services. In addition to
contributing to PRMS' risk management publications and seminars,
and developing risk management tools, she has traveled across
the nation as a speaker on risk management issues for various
psychiatric organizations, and has written risk management articles
for publication in psychiatric journals.
Ms.
Vanderpool has developed an expertise in the area of HIPAA and
psychiatry, and has spoken nationally on the subject. Her numerous
articles on HIPAA have been published in psychiatric as well as
legal periodicals. Ms. Vanderpool's professional background includes
not only practicing law, but also teaching business and legal
courses, and managing a general surgical practice. During her
eight years with the surgical practice, she developed and implemented
compliance programs for fraud and abuse, coding, OSHA, and other
practice areas, and also instituted various risk management strategies.

Megan Jones manages the direct marketing
and individual sales functions. She is responsible for the development
of marketing strategies and promotions for client programs. Ms.
Jones received her undergraduate degree in Marketing from Elon College
in North Carolina and her MBA through the Wharton School of Business
at the University of Pennsylvania .
Ms. Jones brings valuable experience
to PRMS as a licensed Property and Casualty agent with a background
in both the insurance and the marketing industries. Ms. Jones worked
